During Narendra Modi’s interactive meet with India U-17 football team at the Prime Minister’s office in New Delhi last week, the Prime Minister spoke of sports as a means to develop personality, build confidence, and a factor in overall development.

The U-17 team created history by becoming the first Indian team to participate in a FIFA World Cup. The Prime Minister encouraged the players to not feel disappointed with the outcome of the tournament, but to treat it as a learning opportunity. He said competing with enthusiasm and spirit is the first step to success.
