2 LeT terrorists killed in Srinagar after 30hr encounter

SRINAGAR: In an encounter that lasted for 30 hours, two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were killed by security forces on Tuesday, a day after their bid to strike the CRPF camp in Srinagar’s Karan Nagar area was foiled.
The identity of the fidayeen (suicide squad) terrorists is yet to be ascertained, said inspector general (Kashmir range) S P Pani. One of the terrorists was shot dead on Tuesday morning while he was trying to shift to another building, whereas his accomplice was killed in the afternoon. One CRPF jawan also sustained minor injuries in the gunfight, Pani added.

The encounter had begun around 9am on Monday, after CRPF sentry Raghunath Ghait had opened fire on terrorists trying to sneak into the 23-Battalion camp around 4.30am.
